Dave Allen, of the Far South Coast Cricket Association who’s been trying to organize the tour since long, is stoked that it’s finally happening. Canberra’s women’s cricket team, the Meteors, will be finally visiting the Far South Coast next weekend which is right before their opening game of the upcoming Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL).

The tour has been arranged for the locals over there to have an insightful interaction with the cricketing stars. The schedule for the Meteors includes 2 practice matches with local kids, question and answer rounds with the general public and to attend a public BBQ.

Dave who’s behind this meet and greet said to About Regional website, “I think it’s really important for kids to interact with elite players, especially in regional areas we don’t get the opportunity much. I grew up in Cobargo and I remember how important that was to me as a kid. ”

Meeting these female stars would be inspiring for young aspirants of the game and the tour will also act as a refreshment for these bunch of cricketers ahead of the tournament.
