The tournament is set to begin on April 9, and these warm-up matches are crucial in helping the teams acclimate to the local conditions. The warmup match saw the hosts Pakistan defeat West Indies by 5 wickets.

This match followed their respective wins in earlier warm-up encounters – Pakistan had defeated Thailand by seven wickets, while West Indies had beaten Ireland by five wickets.

West Indies won the toss and opted to bat first, aiming to set a formidable target. However, their hopes were quickly dashed as Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal claimed a three-wicket haul, while Nasra Sandhu chipped in with two wickets.

Fatima Sana, Diana Baig, and Rameen Shamim each picked up one wicket, effectively restricting West Indies to 188/8 in their 50 overs. For West Indies, Shabika Gajnabi remained unbeaten on 68 off 77 balls, featuring seven fours, while Jannellia Glasgow provided valuable support, scoring 41 off 50 balls with six fours, helping West Indies reach their total.

Pakistan comfortably chased down the modest target of 189 in 47 overs, although they lost their openers for 51. Muneeba Ali led the batting unit, remaining unbeaten on 87 runs off 130 balls, including 12 fours. Natalia Pervaiz then joined her, scoring an unbeaten 53 in 60 balls, featuring four fours and two sixes.

For West-Indies, Aaliyah Alleyne (5-0-14-1), Afy Fletcher (5-1-23-1), Ashmini Munisar (10-1-44-1) picked up one wicket each, while two of the Pakistani batters succumbed to run-outs.
