Bio:

Hailing from South Africa, Jafta’s journey began in October 2016 when she put on the national colours for the first time in a Women’s One Day International (WODI) match against New Zealand. Expanding her range, Jafta ventured into the fast-paced arena of Twenty20 cricket in April 2019, making her debut for South Africa against Pakistan. This transition showcased her versatility as both a wicket-keeper and a right-handed batter. Her ability to adapt to different formats underscored her value to the team, earning her recognition as she was named in the Devnarain XI squad for the inaugural Women’s T20 Super League in South Africa later that year.

Jafta’s dedication and hard work bore fruit when she was awarded a national contract by Cricket South Africa in March 2020, a proof to her consistent performances and growing importance to the squad. Subsequently, her inclusion in South Africa’s training squad for their tour to England in July 2020 further solidified her position as an indispensable member of the national setup. As Jafta’s journey continued to unfold, her leadership qualities shone through when she was entrusted with the captaincy of the South African Emerging Women’s squad for their tour to Bangladesh in April 2021. This marked a significant milestone in her career, highlighting her ability to inspire and lead by example on and off the field.
