The West Indies women’s team led by skipper Hayley Matthews clinched an edge-of-the-seat thriller by two runs in the 3rd T20I. Skipper Hayley Matthews was awarded the Player of the Match for her sensational match-winning all-round show, scoring (68 off 49 balls) with the bat and returning with match figures (4-0-22-2) with the ball.

West Indies skipper Hayley Matthews won the toss and opted to bat first. West Indies got off to a poor start as they lost both their openers inside the first three overs of the innings. Sadia Iqbal provided both breakthroughs for Pakistan. Chedean Nation joined wicket-keeper batter Shemaine Campbelle at the crease and the duo stitched a 22-run partnership for the 3rd wicket before the wicket-keeper batter Shemaine Campbelle was found short of her crease to provide the third breakthrough for Pakistan.

West Indies lost a couple of wickets in quick succession and found themselves struggling at 49/5 in the 12th over of the innings. Jannillea Glasgow joined Zaida James at the crease and the duo stitched a crucial 26-run partnership for the 6th wicket before skipper Nida Dar cleaned up Zaida James to provide the 6th breakthrough for her side. West Indies eventually ended up with a total of 84/9 in their quota of overs.

Wicket-keeper batter Shemaine Campbelle (26 off 20 balls), Zaida James (19 off 24 balls), and Jannillea Glasgow (10 off 17 balls) were the top performers with the bat for the West Indies. Sadia Iqbal (4-0-18-3), skipper Nida Dar (4-0-19-3), Nashra Sandhu (4-0-14-1), and Fatima Sana (4-1-11-0) were the top performers with the ball for Pakistan.

Chasing a target of 85, the Pakistan openers Ayesha Zafar and Sidra Amin got off to a good start, scoring over eight runs an over. Shamilia Connell picked up the wicket of Sidra Amin to provide the first breakthrough for the West Indies in the 4th over of the innings. Muneeba Ali joined Sidra Amin at the crease and the duo stitched a 15-run partnership for the 2nd wicket before Afy Fletcher picked up the wicket of Muneeba Ali to provide the 2nd breakthrough for her side.

Gull Feroza joined opening batter Ayesha Zafar at the crease and the duo took their side over the line with a 46-run 3rd wicket partnership. Pakistan managed to clinch their maiden victory of the white-ball series against the West Indies by eight wickets and with 21 balls to spare. Ayesha Zafar (42 off 48 balls), Gull Feroza (21 off 24 balls), and Sidra Amin (15 off 12 balls) were the top performers with the bat for Pakistan.

Afy Fletcher (2-0-6-1), Shamilia Connel (2-0-8-1), and Aaliyah Alleyne (3-0-10-0) were the top performers with the ball for the West Indies. The 28-year-old left-arm spinner from Pakistan Sadia Iqbal was awarded the Player of the Match for her sensational match-winning spell (4-0-18-3) with the ball. She alongside skipper Nida Dar played a crucial role in helping the home side register their maiden victory of the white-ball series against the West Indies.
