Qualification from regional qualifiers is as follows:
• Asia – United Arab Emirates, Nepal, Hong Kong, and Thailand advanced to the Semi-Finals from the 11-team event. Finalists Thailand and United Arab Emirates earned their spot in the global qualifier.
• East Asia-Pacific – Vanuatu advanced to the global qualifier as the only unbeaten team with 6 straight wins from the 7-team event.
• Americas – The United States of America secured qualification to the global qualifier with 6 straight wins from the 4-team event.
• Europe – In the first stage of the 6-team action, France and Italy emerged victorious. However, Scotland and Netherlands secured qualification to the global qualifier with 5 wins from 6 games each in division 1 fixtures.
• Africa – Botswana and Kenya earned victories in division 2 of the extended two-leg competition. Nonetheless, finalists from Division 1, Uganda, and Zimbabwe advanced to the global qualifier.
• Direct qualification – Ireland and Sri Lanka earned qualification to the global event based on their rankings in the 2023 T20 World Cup.
The forthcoming 10-team global qualifier in Abu Dhabi, scheduled from April 25 to May 7, will feature two groups of five teams each. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, and the finalists will then qualify for the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup.
Format:
The tournament will follow a round-robin format, with each team facing off against the others once in league games. The top-seeded teams from each group will progress to the knockouts. Following the Semi-Finals on May 5, we’ll know the two teams qualifying for the main event and the tournament winner will be crowned on May 7.
