Players to watch

Amy Hunter:

The right-handed opening batter of Ireland bagged the player of the match award in her last outing against the USA. She led the run chase from the front with a 40-ball 43. She smashed a couple of boundaries and a six. In the process, she stitched a 91-run partnership with her opening partner Gayby Lewis.

Arlene Kelly:

The right-arm speedster of Ireland was one of the most successful bowlers for the team in her last appearance against the USA. She claimed 17/2 in four overs. She picked up both the wickets in the 20th over. She bowled well towards the end of the innings, not letting the USA batters surpass the 100-run mark.

Lorna Jack:

The right-handed middle-order batter of Scotland top-scored with 22 runs off 23 balls in her last match against Bangladesh. She hit three boundaries in her innings. She came in to bat in the 11th over and was in the middle until the 18th. She held the innings together but perished against the run of play.

Rachel Slater:

Scotland’s left-arm medium-pace bowler was the pick of the bowlers in her last match against Bangladesh. She claimed 13/2 in three overs. She opened the bowling with Kathryn Bryce and bowled well with the new ball. She struck in her very first over itself, giving the perfect start to her team with the ball.

This will be the fifth match of the tournament at this venue. Out of the four games played here, the teams batting first and second have won two matches each. The average first innings score is 113, and the average second innings score is 87. Batting has looked difficult in the second innings. At the same time, bowlers have got some purchase from the wicket as three out of the six innings have seen teams getting all out.

The weather is expected to be sunny and very warm with low humidity. The highest temperature attained during the day will be 40 degrees Celsius. There will be a three percent cloud cover and no chance of rain. The wind will blow from the west.
