Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur advance in ICC’s latest ODI Rankings

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has updated its women’s player rankings and Indians again have been on the rewarding end following an all-around stellar show the side put on during their 1st of 3-match ODI series against England at Hove.

Batters rankings –

India with the bat had Smriti Mandhana, Yastika Bhatia and Harmanpreet Kaur shine with respective scores of 91(99), 50(47) and 74(94) which has reflected in their rankings as Smriti with a 3 spot jump is now seeded 7th, Yastika with an 8 point leap moves to 37th and Harmanpreet Kaur with +4 jump has broken into the top-10 claiming the 9th rank.

The seedings see Alyssa Healy with 785 points lead the chart that has Beth Mooney, Nat Sciver, Laura Wolvaardt, Meg Lanning and Rachael Haynes (701) constituting the top-6 rankings in the 700+ club. Smriti Mandhana is ranked 7th with 698 points and has Amy Satterthwaite, Harmanpreet Kaur (662) and Chamari Athapaththu follow in constituting the top 10.

Bowlers rankings –

Kate Cross with her impressive spell of 10-1-43-2 has taken a two-point jump that sees her ranked 10th. Charlie Dean and Deepti Sharma with respective spells of 10-0-45-1 and 10-1-33-2 have been big moves with +4 and +6 jump in the rankings which now sees them ranked 20th and 12th respectively.

Sophie Ecclestone leads the chart in the ODI’s as well with 748 points and Jess Jonassen with 725 points and Megan Schutt and Shabnim Ismail with levelled at 722 points building towards a battle. Jhulan Goswami is next on with 689 points and has Ayabonga Khaka, Rajeshwari Gayakwad and Hayley Matthews (612) forming the 600+club and Marizaane Kapp (598) and Kate Cross (597) close out the top-10 in the rankings.

All-rounders’ rankings –

Nat Scivers’ absence has Ellyse Perry get the top spot with 374 points in the 300+club which sees Nat Sciver, Marizaane Kapp, Hayley Matthews and Amelia Kerr follow. Deepti Sharma leads the next set of 5 with 271 points which see Ashleigh Gardner, Jess Jonassen, Jhulan Goswami and Sophie Ecclestone (217) follow in constituting the top 10.
