Players to pick a hat-trick in the ACC Women’s Premier Cup 2024

The ongoing edition of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Women’s Premier Cup is getting crazier as the tournament progresses. The bowlers have out shown the batters and smashed multiple records with their exceptional bowling spells, single-handedly blowing out the opposition.

Ahilya Chandel (Japan) (2.5-0-8-4) Vs China

We witnessed a super rare moment in the 14th match of the season between China and Japan. The 21-year-old left-arm pacer from Japan Ahilya Chandel created history as she became the first player from the country and overall the fourth player to bag a double hat-trick (four wickets in four balls) against China. She joins a unique list of players to achieve this rare feat. Anuradha Doddaballapur (Germany): (3-2-1-5) Vs Austria, 14th August 2020, Shameelah Mosweu (Botswana): (4-1-3-6) Vs Mozambique, 10th September 2021, and Thipatcha Putthawong (3.5-0-8-5) Vs Netherlands, 14th July 2023 were the other bowlers to achieve the feat. Japan eventually managed to get over the line by 4 wickets and 9 balls to spare.

Mahirah Izzati Ismail (Malaysia) (4-1-11-5) Vs Bahrain

Bahrain women led by skipper Deepika Rasangika won the toss and opted to field first against Malaysia. After being inserted to bat first, Malaysia posted an impressive total of 188/3 in their quota of overs on the back on twin half-centuries from Elsa Hunter (68 off 46 balls) and Mas Elysa (66 off 40 balls). Chasing a target of 189, the Bahrain batting unit collapsed and were bundled out for 62 with three overs to spare. Skipper Deepika Rasangika was the top performer (43 off 50 balls) with the bat for Bahrain. Mahirah Izzati Ismail single-handedly destroyed the opposition batting as she claimed a five-wicket haul, including a hattrick, and returned with exceptional match figures (4-1-11-5) with the ball. Malaysia eventually sealed the game by a massive 126-run margin against Bahrain.

Heena Hotchandani (UAE) (4-0-9-3) Vs Indonesia

UAE skipper Esha Oza won the toss and opted to bat first against Indonesia. UAE posted a competitive total of 122/6 in their quota of overs courtesy of crucial contributions from Samaira Dharnidharka (31 off 28 balls), Kavisha Egodage (26 off 34 balls), and Khushi Sharma (24 off 24 balls). Chasing a target of 123, the Indonesia batting unit were restricted to 66/6 in their quota of overs. Heena Hotchandani claimed a hattrick in the 2nd over of the run chase sending the top order back to the pavilion for a duck to send the Indonesia on the back foot early on in the run chase. UAE eventually sealed the game comprehensively by a margin of 56 runs against Indonesia in the ACC Women’s Premier Cup 2024.

Sita Rana Magar (Nepal) (4-0-11-3) Vs Kuwait

Kuwait led by skipper Amna Tarik won the toss and opted to bat first against Nepal. They failed to post a competitive total on the board as they were restricted to 73/9 in their quota of overs. The 27-run 2nd wicket partnership between Priyada Murali and Balasubramani Shanti was the most substantial one for Kuwait. Sita Rana Magar claimed a hattrick for Nepal dismissing Priyada Murali, Maryam Omar, and skipper Amna Tariq. She returned with exceptional match figures (4-0-11-3) against Kuwait. Nepal eventually sealed a thumping 8-wicket victory over Kuwait with 31 balls to spare.
