ODI Rankings gain for Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur, Hayley tops All-Round Chart

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has updated its player’s rankings across all 3 categories; batters, bowlers and all-rounders. India’s recently concluded tour of England and West Indies’ ongoing home series against New Zealand created a fair share of shuffle in the updated One-Day International (ODI) rankings.

BATTER RANKINGS :

Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur’s 221-run series and Smriti Mandhana’s 181-run series against England see the two grab good seedings on the chart. Harmanpreet Kaur has had a four-spot jump, while Smriti Mandhana improves by a spot.

The Australia pair of Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney continues to top the chart with 785 and 749 points. Next on the list are Laura Wolvaardt, Nat Sciver, Harmanpreet Kaur (716), Smriti Mandhana (714), Meg Lanning and Rachael Haynes (701) in the 700+ points brackets. Amy Satterthwaite and Chamari Athapaththu (655) follow and complete the top-10 seedings.

BOWLERS RANKINGS :

Sophie Ecclestone continues to hold the top spot on the list despite having had an ordinary series where she claimed only 3 wickets against India. Gains were fruitful for Kate Cross who’s up by 3 spots to 7th on the list and Charlie Dean as well who with a 13 position jump is now seeded 19th on the list. Renuka Singh Thakur’s summer of cricket in England got a lot richer during the bilateral series as she’s up to the 35th rank with a 35-place leap and Jhulan Goswami post her farewell series finishes 5th on the list. Hayley Matthews in the series against New Zealand claimed 5 wickets and sees a two-place jump.

Sophie Ecclestone at the top with 739 points is followed by Jess Jonassen, Megan Schutt and Shabnim Ismail (722) in the 700+ bracket. Jhulan Goswami seeded 5th with 698 points has Hayley Matthews, Kate Cross, Ayabonga Khaka, Rajeshwari Gayakwad and Marizanne Kapp (598) follow in constituting the top-10 seedings.

ALL-ROUNDERS RANKINGS :

Hayley Matthews in her first series as full-time skipper finished as the side’s leading run-scorer (88) and the joint highest wicket-taker with 5 to her name. Her efforts proved enough as she with a 3 rank rise is now at her career best, top-ranked on the list with 380 points. Amelia Kerr finished the series with the most (98) runs and sees a rank rise.

Hayley Matthews now leads the rankings with 380 points and has Ellyse Perry, Nat Sciver, Amelia Kerr, Marizanne Kapp and Deepti Sharma (322) follow in the 300+ points brackets. The next four on the list constituting the top 10 are Ashleigh Gardner, Jess Jonassen, Jhulan Goswami and Katherine Brunt (207).
