Gabriella Fontenla got Scotland off to a superb start as she picked up the wicket of Sumaiya Akther on the 2nd ball of the innings after skipper Niamh Muir won the toss and opted to field first. Wicket-keeper batter Juairiya Ferdous joined Fahomida Choya at the crease and the duo led some sort of a recovery for their side with a much-needed 26-run partnership for the 2nd wicket.

Fahomida Choya (14 off 12 balls) was found short of her crease to provide the 2nd breakthrough for Scotland. Bangladesh suffered a mini collapse as they lost their next three wickets for just 24 runs. Skipper Sumaiya Akter (28* off 36 balls) joined Afia Ashima (21 off 19 balls) and the duo stitched another crucial 38-run partnership for the 6th wicket to take their side closer to the 100-run mark.

Maisie Maceira cleaned up Afia Ashima to provide the much-needed 6th breakthrough for her side. It also eventually turned out to be the highest partnership of the innings for Bangladesh. They eventually posted a competitive total of 120/9 in their quota of 20 overs. Skipper Niamh Muir joined wicket-keeper batter Pippa Sproul, and the duo formed a much-needed 50-run partnership for the 3rd wicket to keep their side alive in the contest.

Habiba Islam picked up the big wicket of the opposition skipper Niamh Muir (22 off 32 balls) to provide a crucial 3rd breakthrough for Bangladesh. Wicket-keeper batter Pippa Sproul (43 off 41 balls) kept her side alive in the contest, but her departure towards the business end of the chase in the 18th over of the innings pulled the curtains down on Scotland’s hopes in the run chase.
