Bio:-

Harshitha Samarawickrama, making her debut in the T20I format against Ireland in March 2016, she quickly transitioned to the ODI arena with her debut against Australia in September of the same year. Her leadership qualities were recognized in November 2019 when she was appointed as the captain of Sri Lanka’s squad for the women’s cricket tournament at the 2019 South Asian Games, where the team secured a silver medal. Additionally, she was entrusted with the role of vice-captaincy for Sri Lanka’s squad in major tournaments like the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia and the 2021 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe.

Continuing to play a pivotal role in Sri Lanka’s cricketing endeavors, Samarawickrama retained her vice-captaincy for subsequent tournaments, including the 2022 Commonwealth Games Cricket Qualifier in Malaysia and the cricket tournament at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.

Harshitha has scored 522 runs in 26 innings with a high score of 75 in ODIs. In her 48 T20I innings, she has amassed 1033 runs, including 5 half-centuries, with a high score of 81 runs. She maintains an average of 28.69 and a strike rate of 92.81.
