Players to watch out:
Amy Hunter
The 18-year-old keeper-batter, in the first leg of the Super 50 Cup fixtures, scored a solid 84-ball 69. However, in the Super 20 Trophy, she only managed 84 runs, including a highest of 53 (43), from 4 outings. The Super 50 Cup resumed earlier this week, and Amy didn’t feature in that game. Nonetheless, she is a reliable anchor and can be counted on to lead the scoring.
Alana Dalzell
The 23-year-old bowling all-rounder struck 4 wickets in the first leg of the Super 50 Cup, while she didn’t score many runs. In the recently concluded Super 20 Trophy, Alana took 3 wickets and wasn’t required much with the bat. On the Super 50 Cup return, Alana delivered economical figures of 0/12 (5) and will be backed to step up with all-round efforts.
Sophie MacMahon
The 27-year-old all-rounder, in the first leg of the Super 50 Cup, following her dismissal for 1 (10), scored 39 (67) and produced bowling figures of 2/22 and 2/34. In her only T20 outing, she registered figures of 9 (10) and 2/26. In their first outing on the Super 50 Cup return, it is hoped she resumes her campaign from where she left off, delivering the goods.
Alice Tector
The teen up-and-coming all-rounder led the wickets tally in the first-leg fixtures with 6 to her name, while adding 24 runs with the bat. In the T20 games, Alice bagged 3 wickets and also registered scores of 13, 34, 15, and 14. She’ll be relied upon to carry this momentum, especially her batting form, into the Super 50 Cup.
Pitch:
Despite a modest average score, the center strip at the Bready Cricket Club makes up a well-balanced center wicket that offers a fair contest between bat and ball. However, bowlers, particularly pacers, have the upper hand on this wicket.
Weather:
Scattered thunderstorms on the radar pose a threat to the game, with rain delays and interruptions expected if the skies don’t clear. The temperature will be around 16°C, with light winds and humidity at 80%.
Fantasy playing XI:
Amy Hunter, Gaby Lewis, Sophie MacMahon, Tahlia Dunne, Leah Paul, Arlene Kelly, Orla Prendergast, Cara Murray, Jane Maguire, Alice Tector, Alana Dalzell
