Annerie Dercksen is one of the most exciting young players in South African women’s cricket. She is known for her strong batting and useful medium-pace bowling. Over the last few years, she has become an important player for South Africa.
Dercksen grew up in Beaufort West, a small town in the Western Cape. She spent much of her childhood on a farm. During her university years, she changed from spin bowling to seam bowling, a decision that helped her improve her game.
She made her senior domestic debut for South Western Districts and later earned a place in the South African national team. Since then, she has continued to impress with both bat and ball.
In 2024, Dercksen became the first South African player to win the ICC Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year award. The award showed how quickly she had grown as an international player.
