Karnataka sailed over Andhra in the 128th match of the tournament at Devineni Venkata Ramana Praneetha Ground in Mulapadu. After Andhra set a target of 97 for Karnataka to chase, the latter chased the score in 12 overs, courtesy Vanitha Vellaswamy’s superb knock.

Andhra won the toss and opted to bat first. Andhra openers gave the team a decent start with Jhansi Challa and captain Anusha Neeruggati having a 45-run stand. Challa made 24 while the captain departed after scoring 21 runs. Anjali Kesavarajugari remained not out on 34 to take Andhra’s score to 96/5. Sahana Pawar and Prathyusha Challuru of Karnataka both bagged two wickets each.

Opener Vanitha Vellaswamy made the chase super smooth for Karnataka as she hit the ball beautifully. She scored the bulk of the runs batting at a strike rate which went above 191. She scored 69 runs in only 36 balls to seal to give her side a proper headstart. Shubha Satish 16(23) and Divya Gnanananda 12(9) sealed the chase for Karnataka in only 11.2 overs.

Karnataka innings: 100/1 in 11.2 overs

Result: Karnataka won by 9 wickets
