The eighth match of the inaugural edition of the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup will be played between Indonesia and New Zealand on January 15 at North-West University No1 Ground in Potchefstroom, South Africa. The game will begin at 5.15 PM IST (1.45 PM LOCAL).

Both teams have played a couple of warm-up fixtures ahead of the World Cup. While Indonesia won against Zimbabwe and lost to England, New Zealand registered wins against Pakistan and Rwanda.

The captain of Indonesia Women’s U19 is a right-handed top-order batter and a right-arm pace sensation. In the first warm-up fixture against Zimbabwe Women’s U19, she opened the bowling and claimed 13/3 in four overs. Her all-round abilities will be the key to her team’s success.

The talented right-arm off-spinner of Indonesia Women’s U19 bagged 9/3 in three overs in the first warm-up match against Zimbabwe Women’s U19. Besides being a wicket-taker, she is an economical bowler. She can also be handy with the bat in the middle order.

Anna Browning:

She is one of the best all-rounders in the New Zealand Women’s U19 side. She can open both batting and bowling as a right-handed batter and a right-arm speedster. In the first warm-up game against Rwanda, she muscled 67 off 45, including nine boundaries and a six.

Fran Jonas:

She is a wily left-arm spinner of New Zealand Women’s U19, who has already played at the international level. She can open the bowling and bowl well with the new ball inside the powerplay. She is a wicket-taking bowler and can trouble any batter with her disciplined lines and lengths.

Pitch

It will be the tournament’s second game at this venue, with the first being played early in the day. Before the World Cup, four women’s T20Is were played here, with the teams batting first and second, winning two apiece. Expect a hard surface that will help the batters to score big runs. Bowlers will have to stick to their basics and make good use of their variations if need be.
