The electrifying one-month ride of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 has finally reached its climax. Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, the same finalists from the inaugural season, will clash in the title decider at the Brabourne Stadium on March 15th, starting at 8:00 PM. Delhi Capitals topped the points table to secure a direct spot in the final, while Mumbai Indians defeated Gujarat Giants by 47 runs in the eliminator to seal their spot in the final.

Two-time runners-up, Delhi Capitals finished the league stage in style, sitting atop the points table with 10 points, winning 5 of their matches. They began their campaign on a promising note defeating Mumbai Indians in a close encounter (by 2 wickets). However, they suffered a setback when Royal Challengers Bengaluru handed them an 8-wicket defeat.
Delhi bounced back with a convincing 7 wicket win against UP Warriorz, but their momentum was halted by a 33-run defeat at the hands of the same opponent in their next match. Undeterred, Delhi Capitals embarked on a three-match winning streak, defeating Gujarat Giants by 6 wickets, Mumbai Indians by 9 wickets and Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 9 wickets. However, their final league match ended in a 5-wicket defeat to Gujarat Giants.
Mumbai Indians, the inaugural champions, finished second on the points table, narrowly behind Delhi Capitals due to an inferior Net Run Rate. Their campaign began with a heart-wrenching last-ball defeat to Delhi Capitals, but they quickly bounced back with a 5-wicket win against Gujarat Giants. Mumbai then extended their winning streak, defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru (by 4 wickets) and UP Warriorz (by 8 wickets). However, Delhi Capitals handed them their second defeat, winning by 9 wickets.
Mumbai regained momentum, winning against UP Warriorz by 6 wickets and Gujarat Giants by 9 runs. Their final league match ended in an 11-run defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Nevertheless, Mumbai Indians advanced to the eliminator, where they produced their highest WPL total of 213 against Gujarat, winning by 47 runs and advancing into the finals with a dominant performance.
