Hardik Pandya, one of India’s most valuable and key all-rounders, currently serves as the skipper of the Mumbai Indians men’s team.
Ahead of the women’s team’s first game of the 2025 Women’s Premier League (WPL) against two-time runners-up Delhi Capitals on the 16th of February, Pandya has a special message for the fans who have got a thrilling opportunity to witness live cricketing action at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.

The 31-year-old, who hails from Gujarat, has thrown his support in local language behind the women’s team as they aim to clinch their second WPL title. In a video shared by the official handle of the franchise, Pandya expressed his excitement and urged the fans to hurl in large numbers and support the players who take on the field during their first match of the campaign.
It is a treat to take a glimpse of classic athletes when they unleash the best of their cricketing acumen and talent, and Hardik encourages the fans to soak in the thrilling game atmosphere. He further conveyed his best wishes to the women’s squad and called on the fans to paint the stands in blue and gold, cheering for every moment.
“Hello Vadodara. Mumbai Indians’ women’s team has arrived in Vadodara. Please go and support them and have lots of fun. AALI RE!!,” said Hardik Pandya, urging fans to rally behind the team.
Baroda is ready to witness top-tier women’s cricket, and Pandya is confident that the city will create an unforgettable atmosphere for the team in the coming games. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will take on Delhi Capitals in match no. 2 of the third edition of the Women’s Premier League.
The team in Blue-and-Gold etched their name in history by winning the inaugural season in the most comprehensive fashion possible. In 17 games played, captain Harmanpreet Kaur has 5 fifties to her name – while averaging 45 and striking the deliveries at a rate of 138. Though she ran against the clock to get match-fit in a disappointing 2024, the team lost a nail-biting Eliminator against the eventual champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
