As one of the game’s most dynamic and experienced all-rounders, Nat Sciver-Brunt has once again shown her value. Since the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction, where she was roped in for INR 3.20 Crores, has been an essential member of the Mumbai Indians.

Sciver-Brunt has been in outstanding form in WPL 2025, presently topping the run rankings with 254 runs from four games and has orange cap to her. She has been influential not just with the bat but also with the ball, leading the wicket-taking tally with seven wickets, tied with Renuka Singh Thakur, Georgia Wareham, Hayley Matthews and Annabel Sutherland.
As she continues to rule the league, her steady play makes her a serious candidate for the Purple Cap as well.
Most recently, she led Mumbai Indians to a commanding eight-wicket victory over UP Warriorz, demonstrating once more why she is among the game’s top all-round players.
She put on an outstanding all-around display, taking three wickets to derail Warriorz’s innings before securing an easy chase with an unbeaten 75 off just 44 balls. Her vital 133-run partnership with Hayley Matthews put Mumbai at the top of the table and secured their third straight win of the season.
The all-rounder from England has been in outstanding form, topping the WPL 2025 run charts and remaining the cornerstone of Mumbai’s success.
She discussed her desire for being an all-round contributor, sharing, “I love being an all-rounder. I love being involved in the game, and my body is probably not allowing me to bowl as much as I want to, but I save it for the game. I think the wickets that I’ve bowled on have given me assistance, the fielders keep catching it, so I’m happy.” She was deadly with the ball, taking 3 for 18 and setting up Mumbai’s control right away.
After departing for a duck in her maiden WPL 2025 outing and 17 and 15 in her following two games, Matthews has found some much-needed form scoring 59 in the game, which also saw Mumbai’s opening partnership finally gel.
Sciver-Brunt remarked, considering her partnership with Hayley, “It was really great. Hayley has been desperate for runs, so I’m really happy that she did. Together, we killed the game, and that’s how we want to play.”
When Sanjana questioned Sciver-Brunt about her preparations, she stressed the value of flexibility and practice. “I guess just getting into the nets, making sure my basics are right, and then exploring different shots in the net so that I can use them in the game. To learn from the past and take into the next game—we have one more game left here,” she explained.
Mumbai is currently well-positioned, and they will want to maintain their top spot in the next games.
Sciver-Brunt talked about the pleasant vibes in the dressing room and the Mumbai Indians camp’s continued strong sense of team spirit. She said, “We all take good care of each other, we really have a great time, and hopefully, we will see some dancing again tonight.”
