Delhi Capitals will play Gujarat Giants in the 10th game of the 2025 Women’s Premier League (WPL) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on February 25 at 7:30 PM IST.

With two victories and two defeats, the Capitals are presently ranked third in the standings and following their 33-run loss to UP Warriorz in their most recent game, they will look to recover after a great start to the season. They defeated Mumbai Indians by two wickets at the start of their campaign, successfully chasing down 164 runs. But collapsed in their subsequent match, failing to defend 141 runs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. However, they then defeated UP Warriorz by seven wickets but were unable to duplicate that performance in the second.
Delhi was bowled out for 144 while chasing 177, with Grace Harris taking a hat-trick, despite Jemimah Rodrigues scoring 56 and Shafali Verma 24. UP Warriorz reached a competitive score due to Chinelle Henry’s spectacular 62 off 23 balls. Delhi, which has had inconsistent results thus far, will try to improve in this match against Gujarat giants.
On the other hand, Giants with one victory and two losses, are currently at the bottom of the standings. Their most recent defeat was a five-wicket loss to Mumbai Indians. They lost against RCB by six wickets in the tournament opener, failing to restrict RCB from chasing down 201 runs. In their second game, they recovered and defeated UP Warriorz by six wickets after successfully chasing 143.
However, in the third game against the Mumbai Indians, their batting struggled, scoring just 120 runs. Ashleigh Gardner, who only managed 10 runs, and the rest of the top order fell apart, efforts of Harleen Deol (32) and Kashvee Gautam (20) helped Giants post a respectable total. Despite losing early wickets, Mumbai closed out the chase in 17 overs with five wickets remaining following a calm innings by Nat Sciver-Brunt. Gujarat will want more reliable results from its batting line to move up in the points table.
Head-to-Head:
Delhi Capitals have won three of their last four WPL meetings against Gujarat Giants. Delhi defeated Gujarat by 25 runs and 7 wickets, respectively, in their two meetings in 2024. In 2023, Gujarat managed its only victory over Delhi by 11 runs. Set for their first clash this season, Gujarat Giants are trying to rebound from a five-wicket loss to the Mumbai Indians, while the Delhi Capitals are hoping to recover from a 33-run setback to the UP Warriorz.
