In the 11th and the last match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 at Bengaluru, between the UP Warriorz and the Royal Challengers Bangalore, RCB registered a thumping win over the UP Warriorz for the 2nd time in the tournament.
To start with, Alyssa Healy the captain of UP Warriorz won the toss and elected to field first. The Royals’ openers Smriti Mandhana and Sabbhineni Meghana got off to a flying start with a partnership of 51 runs. The fall of the latter wicket did no difference as the batter to come Ellyse Perry continued to attack alongside Mandhana who in her innings of 80(50) hit 10 fours and 3 sixes at a staggering strike rate of 160. Smriti also topped the Orange cap list with this innings by some margin.

While chasing, the UP Warriorz got to a decent start of 56 runs in the power play losing 1 wicket. But just after the field restrictions got over, the UP Warriorz lost wickets at regular intervals making it more difficult for the batters to follow. Eventually, the Royals sealed the win by 23 runs, and Smriti Mandhana was adjudged the player of the match for her innings of 80(50).
