The likes of Shorna Akter, Marufa Akter, Dilara Akter, and Disha Biswas have been included in the squad and it is believed they will stay back after U19 World Cup concludes.

When will the rest of the team leave?

The remaining players will leave for South Africa on January 23rd and their first game is scheduled against Sri Lanka on February 12th.

Will Bangladesh be playing warm-up matches?

Bangladesh will square off against Pakistan and India on February 6th and February 8th respectively before the group stages of the World Cup commences.

Who missed out?

The likes of Sharmin Akter, Fargana Hoque, Sanjida Akter, Fariha Trisna and Rabeya Khatun, who were all part of Bangladesh’s last tour, to New Zealand in December have been excluded and found no place in the squad.

What did Bangladesh women’s team selector Manjurul Islam have to say?

“While making the squad for the Women’s T20 World Cup, we considered the format and the conditions. We are playing in South Africa. We are already playing in the Under-19 World Cup, so we tried to pick a mix of young and experienced players. He also added that “Shorna, Disha, Marufa and Dilara are playing really well in the (Under-19 World Cup) tournament. They also toured New Zealand on our senior team’s last tour. We also have a number of experienced players like Jahanara [Alam] and Salma [Khatun]”.
