The second match of the Women’s T20I Quadrangular Series 2022 will be played between UAE and Thailand at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai on September 10. The match will start at 3.30PM IST.

While UAE last played a T20I competition in June this year when they featured in the Asian Cricket Council’s Women’s T20 Championship which they won, Thailand, on the other hand, played a T20I series in 2021 against Zimbabwe which they won 2-1.

Players to watch

Chaya Mughal: 

The captain of UAE is an experienced all-rounder, who has featured in 35 T20Is. The right-handed batter has registered 310 runs, including the best of 36 and with the ball, the right arm medium pace bowler has claimed 26 wickets. She can be a match winner with either bat or ball.

Esha Oza:

She is a prolific right-handed batter and more than a handy right arm off spinner of UAE. She has played 35 T20Is and scored 1027 runs, including four half-centuries and two centuries. She will be required to shoulder the batting responsibility of her team. Apart from her batting, she has 22 wickets in the T20I format.

Chanida Sutthiruang: 

She is one of the best all-rounders of Thailand. She is a right-handed batter and a right arm medium pace bowler. She has 42 T20Is under her belt. With the bat, she has muscled 390 runs, including the best of 46 not out and with the ball has picked up 43 wickets, including one five-wicket haul and one four-wicket haul.

Naruemol Chaiwai: 

The skipper of Thailand is a right-handed batter. She has 42 T20Is to her name. She has scored 718 runs, including a couple of half-centuries and has the best score of 64 not out. Apart from her batting, she will be required to ace the leadership role in the side. She has just led the team in three T20Is so far.

Pitch

Prior to the start of this tournament, the venue has hosted nine women’s T20Is out of which the teams batting first have won seven and the teams batting second have won two. The highest total scored here is 161 and the lowest total achieved is 27. This will be the second match of the day at this venue. The wicket may still be hard and fresh. So, expect a high scoring game.
