A deadly performance from Devine helps knock out Melbourne Stars by a huge margin of 57 runs at Nuriootpa on Saturday.

Winning the toss, Stars opted to bowl. In the beginning, Devine started slowly and her countrymate Bates too gave her company. The senior pro-Bates got out on 18 in the bowling of Ferling and the incoming batter McGrath too dismissed early for 10.

Devine who is in the divine form with Patterson at the crease changed her gears and started to blast, she ended up scoring 77 runs in just 58 balls including 5 fours and 3 huge sixes. She got good support from Patterson who scored unbeaten 41*.In the end, both remained not out and had a partnership of 102 runs. Strikers ended up their innings at 153 for 2 in 20 overs.

Chasing the target of 154, The experienced openers failed again and everyone followed them. All credits to the McGrath and co. Who bowled really well on a good deck. McGrath for a change bowled seam and picked 2 wickets. Devine who was great with the bat also ended as the highest wicket-taker of the match with 3 wickets. The tailender Hancock was the only player for Stars who reached into the 20s whereas others badly failed. In the end, Stars finished at 96 for 8 in 20 overs losing by 57 runs.

This is the 8th defeat of the season for Stars which is definitely not a good sign for the team.
