Season 5 of Women’s Big Bash League begins on the 18th of October 2019. Eights teams will be participating in a round-robin format playing each other twice. The top four teams at the end of the group stages will qualify for the knockouts. With a lot of changes in the line-ups for all the teams in this year’s tournament, it is going to be a cracker of a Big Bash season.

The two most Consistent and Successful teams of the tournament Sydney Thunders women and Sydney Sixers women will face each other in the city marquee clash. Sydney Sixers who finished runners up last year have made useful inclusions keeping an eye on the future. Sydney Sixers look a very balanced side and have star players in their rank who can win matches on their own.

Sydney Thunders are very experienced side, While they went on to win the Inaugural title, they have been having pretty good runs in the tournament finishing in the top four thrice in the previous four editions. Sydney Thunders has undergone a few major changes they would be without the services of Stafanie Taylor, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Nicola Carey. They have replaced the foreign duo with Pakistan’s Nida Dar and South Africa’s Shabnim Ismail. Rachael Haynes would be captaining the team.

Weather and Pitch Report

The weather forecast for the matchday is excellent and we will get to see a full game. This the first game of the tournament. The Australian women’s recently played against the Sri Lankan women’s team at the same venue and the scores have been on the higher side, we could expect a high scoring game, the pitch is expected to be flat and will have enough carry and bounce.
