Rabeya Khan’s 4-fer and Murshida Khatun’s Fifty lead Bangladesh to victory over Thailand

The hosts, Sri Lanka completed a thrashing 144-run victory against Malaysia in the 7th match of the tournament. Chanida Sutthiruang joined opening batter Nattaya Boochatham at the crease and the duo stitched another crucial 14-run partnership for the 4th wicket to take their side past the 50-run mark. Thailand was eventually restricted to 96/9 in their quota of overs. Chasing a target of 97, the Bangladesh openers Dilara Akter and Murshida Khatun got their side off to a steady start, with a 24-run opening stand. The duo scored at around five runs an over. Bangladesh sealed the game with seven wickets in hand and 15 balls to spare.

Thipatcha Putthawong (4-0-18-1), Chanida Sutthiruang (3-0-9-0), and Phannita Maya (1.3-0-8-1) were the top performers with the ball for Thailand.

The 19-year-old leg-spinner Rabeya Khan was awarded the Player of the Match for her match-winning spell (4-0-14-4) with the ball.
