Rebecca Burns is known for her batting skill in hitting long sixes. She has developed a reputation as one of the most powerful and explosive batters in the New Zealand women’s cricket team. Burns is a key player for the highly successful Wellington Blaze team. She has helped her hometown side win six domestic T20 titles, including three out of the last five Super Smash titles, as well as the 2022/23 Hallyburton Johnstone Shield – Wellington’s first title since the 2003/04 season.

Burns’ ability to increase the run-rate from the very first ball was identified by head coach Ben Sawyer, and for her explosive batting style got the chance to represent the White Ferns in the 2022 home series against Bangladesh. She made her international debut in the second match of the series in Queenstown and also played in the third T20I, resulting in the White Ferns winning the series by 3-0.

Burns has quite a good experience playing in the domestic leagues like Super Smash league and the Hallyburton Johnstone Shield Championship, where she showcased an impressive performance as a batter and, more importantly, as a captain.
