Historical Highlights-

In September 2006, Chinese female cricketers debuted internationally against Scotland in Shanghai, although they lacked recognition from the Chinese Cricket Association. Nonetheless, the official Chinese national women’s team was formed in May 2007. Following the conclusion of the National Cricket Tournament, 21 players from 19 school teams underwent intensive centralized training in Shenzhen. A final roster of 14 players was chosen to represent China in the 2007 ACC Women’s Tournament, where they reached the semifinals, losing to Nepal by 9 wickets.

In April 2018, the ICC granted full Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) status to all its members, thereby elevating the status of Twenty20 matches.

Their match against the UAE on 13 January 2019 marked a challenging moment, as they were bowled out for 14 runs, marking the lowest total in a Women’s T20I match at the time.

Looking ahead, China was included in the regional group for the 2021 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier
