Women’s Hundred 2026 Statistical Review: Top Performers, Team Campaigns and Key Numbers

The enthralling 6th edition of the Women’s Hundred, scheduled from 21st July to 16th August 2026, ended in a very one-sided affair. The Australian co-vice-captain Ashleigh Gardner led the Trent Rockets to their maiden Women’s Hundred title by defeating the defending champions Sunrisers Leeds, led by skipper Danielle Gibson, by 8 wickets in the final on 16th August 2026 at iconic Lord’s, London.

Georgia Adams was awarded the Player of the Match for her decisive spell with the ball for her side in the final. Annabel Sutherland, representing the Sunrisers Leeds, was awarded the Player of the Tournament for her sensational all-round heroics throughout the course of the tournament. Southern Brave, led by skipper Sophie Molineux, alongside Sunrisers Leeds and Trent Rockets, formed the knock-out lineup.

MI London’s Journey:

The two-time champions under the Oval Invincibles franchise, rebranded as MI London ahead of the 6th edition. The Hollie Armitage-led side had a season to forget as they finished at the bottom of the points table with 6 points from 8 games, including one victory, one tied game against London Spirit and 6 defeats in their campaign in the league stages of the tournament. Their solitary win in their campaign in the tournament came on 6th August against the London Spirit, which was a narrow 3-run win.

Chenille Henry ended as the leading run-scorer for her side in the tournament with 178 runs at a strike rate of 139.06 and an average of 29.66 in 8 innings and 8 matches with the bat for her side in the tournament. As far as the bowling department is concerned, Hayley Matthews ended as the leading wicket-taker for her side with 10 wickets at an average of 20 and an economy of 9.30 in 8 innings, including a four-wicket haul in 8 matches with the ball for her side in the recently concluded edition.

Birmingham Phoenix’s Journey:

The Ellyse Perry-led Birmingham Phoenix had a similar struggle in their campaign as they found it difficult to put together a team performance on multiple occasions. As a result, they finished 7th on the points table with 10 points from 8 games, including a couple of victories, 5 defeats and a washed-out game in their campaign in the tournament. Their victories came against MI London (by 5 wickets) and Welsh Fire (by 7 wickets).

Skipper Ellyse Perry led from the front, ending as the leading run-scorer for her side with 223 runs at a strike rate of 136.80 and an average of 55.75 in 7 innings, including a couple of half-centuries in 7 matches with the bat for her side in the tournament. As far as the bowling department is concerned, Alana King was the joint highest wicket-taker for her side alongside Alice Capsey with 5 wickets at an average of 34.20 and an economy of 8.34 in seven innings and matches with the ball.

London Spirit’s Journey:

The Charlie Dean-led side were unable to deliver consistent performances throughout their campaign in the tournament. They were also involved in a tied London Derby against MI London on 29th July 2026. Their couple of victories came against the Birmingham Phoenix (by 32 runs) and against Trent Rockets (by 5 wickets) in their campaign. As a result, they ended 6th on the points table with 10 points from 8 games, including 5 defeats, 2 victories and a tied game.

Skipper Charlie Dean ended as the leading wicket-taker for her side and the joint 2nd highest wicket-taker of the tournament alongside Southern Brave’s Issy Wong with 12 wickets at an average of 11.66 and an economy of 5.60 in 8 innings and matches with the ball for her side. As far as the batting department is concerned, Marizanne Kapp ended as the leading run-scorer for her side with 187 runs at a strike rate of 142.74 and an average of 31.16 in 7 innings, including an unbeaten half-century in 7 matches with the bat for her side in the tournament.

Welsh Fire’s Journey:

The Welsh Fire had a massive setback as the regular skipper Sophie Devine suffered a calf tear injury, which ruled her out mid-way through the tournament. The Australian all-rounder Georgia Wareham stepped up in her absence. They had a mixed bag campaign, finishing 5th on the points table with 16 points, including 4 wins and as many defeats in their campaign in the tournament. An extra defeat meant they missed out on a spot in the knockout stages of the tournament.

The Australian young sensation, Georgia Voll, ended as the leading run-scorer for her side and the 4th highest run-scorer of the tournament with 250 runs at a strike rate of 125 and an average of 31.25 in 8 innings, including a couple of half-centuries in 8 matches with the bat for her side in the tournament. As far as the bowling department is concerned, Grace Potts ended as the joint highest wicket-taker for her side alongside Heather Graham with 11 wickets at an average of 15 and an economy of 7.33 in 8 innings and 8 matches with the ball for her side in the tournament.

Manchester Super Giants Journey:

The Meg Lanning-led side also had a similar journey in the league stages as they finished 4th on the points table with 18 points from 8 games, including 4 victories, 3 defeats, and a washed-out game in their campaign, narrowly missing out on a spot in the knockouts.

Off-spinner Maddy Villiers ended as the leading wicket-taker for her side with 9 wickets at an average of 15.88 and an economy of 8.09 in 7 innings and 7 matches with the ball for her side in the tournament. As far as the batting department is concerned, the Indian left-hander Smriti Mandhana ended as the leading run-scorer for her side and the 5th highest run-scorer of the tournament with 232 runs at a strike rate of 138.92 and an average of 38.66 in 7 innings, including an unbeaten half-century in as many matches with the bat.

Southern Brave’s Journey:

The Sophie Molineux-led side had a dream start to their campaign in the league stages, as they registered 5 consecutive victories to start their campaign. However, they ended their campaign with a hat trick of defeats; as a result, they ended as the 3rd-placed side in the points table with 20 points from 8 games, including 5 victories and 3 defeats in their campaign in the league stages. Losing momentum towards the backend hampered them in the Eliminator as they were knocked out by the Sunrisers Leeds, led by skipper Danielle Gibson, by 5 wickets at London on 14th August.

Sunrisers Leeds Journey:

The Danielle Gibson-led side finished 2nd on the points table with 20 points from 8 games, including 5 victories and 3 defeats in their campaign. They had a dicey start to their campaign as they lost three of their first four games of their campaign. However, they ended the league stages with a hat trick of victories to sneak into the knockout stages of the tournament.

They defeated the Sophie Molineux-led Southern Brave in the Eliminator by 5 wickets to secure their 3rd appearance in the title clash of the women’s Hundred over the years. However, they ended up as the runners-up of the tournament courtesy of their 8-wicket defeat against the Trent Rockets in the final on 16th August 2026.

Trent Rockets Journey:

The Ashleigh Gardner-led side was one of the most consistent sides throughout the 6th edition of the Women’s Hundred, as they topped the table in the league stages with 28 points, which included 7 victories and just a solitary defeat against the London Spirit in their campaign in the league stages. As a result of their top-of-the-table finish, they secured a direct spot in the final of the 6th edition of the tournament. They completely dominated the Danielle Gibson-led side to seal the final by 8 wickets and, as a result, lift their maiden Women’s Hundred title at the iconic Lord’s, London.
