Papua New Guinea Women, who elected to bat first, found it difficult to build sustained momentum despite a brilliant unbeaten 57 from Pauke Siaka. Thailand’s disciplined bowling, followed by a composed batting effort led by Player of the Match Natthakan Chantham, ensured that the hosts’ competitive moments never translated into scoreboard pressure. The result also confirmed Thailand Women’s 3-0 series victory, making this an emphatic finish to the three-match contest.

Papua New Guinea’s innings began with Hollan Doriga and Kevau Frank attempting to lay a steady foundation. The opening partnership produced 28 runs before Hollan was dismissed for 21 from 34 balls, including two fours, with Kamchomphu involved in the dismissal off her own bowling at 9.6 overs. Kevau Frank struggled to find rhythm and departed soon afterwards for 4 from 31 balls, leaving PNG at 28/2. Brenda Tau then joined Tanya Ruma, and the pair showed some resistance, adding 17 runs for the third wicket before Tanya fell for 8 from 27 balls at 19.4 overs. Brenda Tau followed shortly after for 9 from 31 balls, leaving the innings at 46/4.

From there, Papua New Guinea’s batting became increasingly dependent on Pauke Siaka, who anchored the middle and lower order with a patient yet valuable unbeaten 57 from 76 deliveries, striking six fours at a strike rate of 75.00. The lower order struggled to provide enough support to Pauke. Erani Pokana was dismissed for a duck from five balls by Suleeporn Laomi, while Sibona Jimmy also failed to score, falling lbw to Laomi after facing just one delivery. Pauke then shared a 25-run seventh-wicket partnership with Henao Thomas, who contributed 10 from 36 balls before being dismissed by Tipatcha Puttawong at 33.6 overs.

Dika Lohia added 5 from 29 balls before becoming Laomi’s third victim, with the score reaching 104/8. Hane Tau made 2 from seven balls before Kamchomphu removed her at 45.5 overs, while Vicky Buruka was the final wicket to fall for a duck, bowled by Phanita Maya at 46.6 overs. Pauke remained unbeaten as PNG were bowled out for 122 in 47 overs. The bowling figures reflected Thailand’s collective effort: Suleeporn Laomi finished with 3/27, Onnicha Kamchomphu claimed 3/23, Tipatcha Puttawong took 2/22, while Phanita Maya returned 1/20 and Sunida Chaturongratthana took 1/25, with Sunida also conceding one wide. Their combined pressure prevented PNG from converting starts into substantial partnerships.

Thailand’s chase began with Phanita Maya and Natthakan Chantham, who put together a strong opening stand of 47. Phanita contributed 14 from 20 balls, hitting two fours, before Henao Thomas struck to remove her at 8.4 overs. Chantham continued to bat with confidence, and her partnership with Nannapat Koncharoenkai added 32 runs for the second wicket. Chantham eventually fell for an excellent 48 from 52 balls, having struck nine fours and maintained a strike rate of 92.30. Her dismissal at 14.2 overs brought Nannapat and Naruemol Chaiwai together, and the pair kept Thailand firmly ahead of the required rate. Nannapat scored 32 from 38 balls, hitting three fours, before becoming Henao Thomas’s third wicket at 22.1 overs, with Thailand sitting comfortably at 109/3.

There was a brief wobble when Aphsara Suwannachonrathi was dismissed for a duck just three balls later, again caught and bowled by Henao Thomas, leaving Thailand at 109/4. Naruemol Chaiwai, however, ensured there was no late drama. She scored 16 from 35 balls, including one four, and formed the crucial 13-run partnership that carried Thailand beyond the finish line before falling for the fifth wicket at 26.4 overs. Chaniada Sutthiruang remained unbeaten on 7 from 12 balls, while Nannaphat Chaihan provided the finishing touch with a rapid unbeaten 4 from just two deliveries, including a boundary. Thailand reached 126/5 in 27 overs, winning by five wickets with 138 balls to spare.

Papua New Guinea’s bowlers had moments of resistance, particularly Henao Thomas, who was the standout bowler with an impressive 4/28 from six overs. Vicky Buruka also claimed one wicket for 28 runs in six overs, while Pauke Siaka bowled five overs for 22 runs without a wicket and Sibona Jimmy conceded 35 runs from eight overs. Hane Tau bowled two overs for 11 runs without taking a wicket. Despite these individual contributions, Thailand’s batters maintained control throughout the chase.

Natthakan Chantham’s 48 was the defining innings, supported by Phanita Maya, Nannapat Koncharoenkai and Naruemol Chaiwai. With the bowling unit first restricting PNG to 122 and the top order then handling the chase calmly, Thailand Women sealed a comprehensive five-wicket win and completed a 3-0 series sweep. The result makes this Thailand Women – Papua New Guinea Women series a clear statement of Thailand’s consistency, while Pauke Siaka’s unbeaten 57 and Henao Thomas’s four-wicket haul provided the brightest individual performances for PNG in a difficult finale.
