The 3rd T20 of the tournament was held at Siechem Stadium in Puducherry. The toss was won by India A who chose to field.
Sent into bat first, India C lost their first wicket in the second ball bowled itself. It was Kajal Jena who was dismissed on a duck. The other opener Rashmi Gudhia fell to Kshama Singh on 4. Renuka Chaudhari and Sheetal Rana then kept the scoreboard moving. They made 22 and 17 runs respectively. Captain Prativa Rana was struck lbw by Maya Sonawane on 5. Down the order, Utkarsha Pawar and Suman Meena remained not out and added 12 and 14 runs respectively to their team’s total. India C finished on 84/8 in 20 overs. Krutikaben Chaudhari and Challa Jhansi Lakshmi from India A scalped two wickets each.
The target was modified for India A in the second innings. They made 30 runs within 5 overs to chase down the target set using VJD method. Challa Jhansi made 20 from 16 balls while Chitra Jamwal scored 8 runs before falling to Renuka Chaudhari. India A won the match by 9 wickets.
The loss will not affect India C’s progress in the tournament. They will meet India B in the final match which will be held on December 15 at the same venue.
