Summary: 3rd ODI – England take the series 2-0 against Pakistan after final match gets abandoned

England Women won the ODI series against Pakistan 2-0 as the final match had to be abandoned midway due to rain. Pakistan Women were at 145/8 in the 38th over before rain played spoilsport.

The third ODI match between England and Pakistan women teams was a no result game. Freya Davies from England and Kaynat Hafeez from Pakistan made their ODI debut in this match. England won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Pakistan who were eyeing for ICC Championship points and a consolation win batted sensibly at the start. Openers Nahida Khan and Javeria Khan had a stable partnership of 96 runs at the top, with the first wicket falling in the 21st over. Nahida also hit a half-century. Her 55 runs came in 59 balls while Javeria made 65-ball 37. Sophie Ecclestone got the important wicket of captain Bismah Maroof while she was on 7. Thereafter wickets kept falling. While Anya Shrubsole had 3 wickets to her name, newbie Sarah Glenn obtained her first 4-wicket haul in 3 ODI matches. Pakistan were at 145/8 in 37.4 overs with Umaima Sohail on 27(50) when rain came. The match had to be thus abandoned.

England captain Heather Knight was given the Player of the Series award. England Women have won the 3-match ODI series 2-0 against their Pakistani counterparts. Both sides will meet for the 1st match of the T20I series on December 17 at Kinrara Oval, Kuala Lumpur.
