As the first Indian to reach this feat, Harmanpreet joins an elite club as only the second player globally after New Zealand’s Suzie Bates. Fresh off captaining India to their maiden senior-level ICC title, the 13th Women’s ODI World Cup triumph over South Africa by 52 runs at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai, her journey embodies resilience, leadership, and trailblazing excellence.

Harmanpreet’s leadership peaked in the 2025 ODI World Cup, hosted by India and Sri Lanka from September 30 to November 2. She became the first Indian captain to lift an ICC trophy at home, handing it to legends Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami in an emotional ceremony alongside Anjum Chopra, tears flowing for the pioneers who built this foundation.

Batting at No. 4, she scored 260 runs in 9 matches across 8 innings at an average of 32.50 and a strike rate of 89.04, including two half-centuries. Her standout 89 off 88 balls (10 fours, 2 sixes) in the semi-final chase of 339 against Alyssa Healy’s Australia at DY Patil propelled India to the final, with Jemimah Rodrigues’ unbeaten 127 (14 fours) sealing a 5-wicket win. Rodrigues earned Player of the Match for her maiden World Cup ton.

ODI Odyssey: Power and Precision

Her pinnacle arrived on July 20, 2017, in the World Cup semi-final against Australia at Derby, where her unbeaten 171* off 115 balls (20 fours, 7 sixes) clinched Player of the Match honours. With the ball, she claims 31 wickets in 73 innings across 161 matches at 49.45 average and 5.28 economy, showcasing her all-round prowess.
