At the forefront of Scotland’s outstanding campaign stands Darcey Carter, who has produced a dream run of form with both bat and ball. The 20-year-old has smashed her way to 205 runs in four innings, including three consecutive half-centuries, striking at 107.89 and averaging 68.33. Her consistency and match-winning contributions have not only positioned her as the leading run-scorer of the tournament but also earned her a significant leap, up 35 places to 36th overall on the updated T20I batting rankings, now with 509 rating points.

Carter’s all-round influence doesn’t stop with the bat. She has also picked up three wickets at an average of 13 and an economy of 5.57, showcasing her growing versatility on the international stage. Her performances have seen her rise an impressive 26 spots to the 27th in the T20I all-rounder rankings, signalling her emergence as one of Scotland’s brightest cricketing prospects.

Thailand, meanwhile, continues to reinforce its reputation as a spin-heavy outfit, with several key performers making notable progress in the T20I bowling rankings. Left-arm spinner Thipatcha Putthawong rises six places to 34th, leg-spinner Suleeporn Laomi moves up 13 spots to 47th, and off-break bowler Sunida Chaturongrattana gains 14 ranks to reach 69th. Their collective impact has been crucial to Thailand’s competitive run at home, demonstrating the strength and depth of their spin arsenal.

Among the batters, Thailand’s experienced stroke-maker Natthakan Chantham has also impressed with measured consistency. She is currently the second-highest run-scorer of the Emerging Nations Trophy with 138 runs across four innings, averaging 46 with a strike rate of 92.61. That effort has earned her a rise to 34th on the latest T20I batting chart with 521 points, reaffirming her long-standing reliability at the top of the order.

Several players from Papua New Guinea and the Netherlands have also made valuable gains. PNG’s Pauke Siaka, one of the side’s senior figures, jumps 15 places to 65th after contributing key runs, 62 off three innings at a healthy strike rate of 116.98, and climbing 28 spots to 36th among T20I all-rounders. Her teammate Brenda Tau continues to provide solidity with 120 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 90.22, maintaining an average of 40 to improve one place to 37th (502 points).

Dutch right-hander Sterre Kalis remains a steady performer and leading run-scorer for the Netherlands with 105 runs at an average of 26.25 and a strike rate of 90.51. Her form sees her advance eight positions to 70th (370 points) in the batting rankings, underlining her value in the Dutch setup.

The impact of the Emerging Nations Trophy extends across the rankings table. Scotland’s Olivia Bell climbs nine places to 46th among T20I bowlers, while teammate Abtaha Maqsood rises an equal number to 55th. From Thailand, Chanida Sutthiruang’s contribution with the bat takes her to a joint 82nd position (331 points), level with Scotland’s Ailsa Lister, who also moves up eight places. Uganda’s Immaculate Nakisuuyi rounds out the week’s movers with an eight-place rise to 95th (294 points).

Despite these shifts, the top of the global charts remains steady, with Australia’s Beth Mooney still holding her No.1 position among T20I batters, Annabel Sutherland leading the bowlers, and Hayley Matthews continuing her reign as the premier T20I all-rounder.

The Emerging Nations Trophy has proven to be more than a developmental event; it is now a genuine launchpad for talent. The progress of players like Darcey Carter and Natthakan Chantham reflects the growing competitiveness of associate nations and the ICC’s expanding women’s cricket landscape, where every strong performance can reshape the global pecking order.
