Considering the huge demand for a women’s cricket league in India, Female Cricket initiated a campaign “#WomensIPL” to raise the importance of an IPL tournament for women cricketers. This has been a topic of discussion in the past, and has always garnered huge attention and demand from female cricket fans across the World. It is with this motivation, Female Cricket took the onus of raising the voice and supporting the possibility of such tournament.
It was heart-warming to see the positive response from fans across the cricket world as they took to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to lend their support towards this campaign. We decided to take the banner (see below picture) at Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium. The idea was to spread the message and show the world how excited we are to have a Women’s IPL tournament.
