Fresh from her recent success, Jemimah achieved a significant milestone by scoring her maiden international century against Ireland in the second ODI at Rajkot. Her innings of 102 runs off 91 balls not only displayed her batting ability but also propelled India to achieve their then highest-ever ODI total of 370/5.

Returning to her roots, Jemimah took a trip down the memory lane, visiting her alma-mater, St. Joseph’s Convent High School in Bandra. Addressing the students, she shared her childhood story, mentioning how, at their age, she had once dreamed of playing in a packed stadium with crowds cheering for her.

She then engaged with the students, asking them about their aspirations, and encouraged them to dream without limits. “Everyone has a dream. What’s the best part about a dream? It’s limitless. As long as you can think about it, you can achieve it. Don’t think small; think big, dream big, because you never know what you can achieve if you start dreaming big,” she emphasized.

Jemimah’s journey to the global stage was built on years of hard work and determination. From her early days of playing local and school cricket, the 24-year-old steadily rose through the ranks honing her skills against tough competition. Her impressive performances caught the attention of the national selectors, leading to her international debut for India in February 2018, against South Africa.

Jemimah has been a crucial player for Delhi Capitals, too. As the WPL draws closer, her role in the Delhi Capitals setup becomes even more significant. A key figure in the team, she brings stability to the batting lineup and has the ability to shift gears when needed.

She has an outstanding record of 361 runs at a strike rate of 143.82 in 18 WPL games. As Delhi aims to transcend their runners-up finishes in the last two seasons, much will depend on Jemimah Rodrigues to spearhead the charge.

Fans won’t have to count the days for long to see her back in action, as she will take the field on 15th February when Delhi Capitals go up against Mumbai Indians at the Baroda Cricket Association Stadium in Vadodara.
