For the national women’s cricket squad, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has arranged a thorough 27-day training camp leading up to the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers 2025.

The camp was originally set to start on February 2, 2025, in the Inzamam-ul-Haq High Performance Centre in Multan. However, logistical issues forced the camp to be moved to the PCB High-Performance Academy in Faisalabad. The camp will be led by former Test cricket player and Pakistan women’s team head coach Mohammad Wasim, who started the position in July 2024.
The camp is carefully planned to improve the players’ fitness levels and cricketing abilities, and it will run from February 2 to February 28, 2025. The team gets plenty of match practice before the qualifiers with the training sessions and multiple 50-over practice matches and has invited 31 players in total, including PCB’s 16 centrally contracted women cricket players.
This lengthy training camp’s main goal is to get the squad ready for the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers. Pakistan will fight for a place in the prestigious competition against teams from Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, Thailand, and the West Indies.
The two qualifications’ finalists will join the top six teams from the ICC Women’s Championship 2022–25 that have already earned direct qualification in the main tournament. Pakistan wants to establish themselves as one of the top teams in the world, thus the forthcoming qualifiers are crucial.
List of players invited to the camp:
Batters – Aliya Riaz, Ayesha Zafar, Eyman Fatima, Gull Feroza, Gull Rukh, Hafsa Khalid, Iram Javed, Natalia Parvaiz, Sadaf Shamas, Saira Jabeen, Shawaal Zulfiqar, and Sidra Amin.
Wicketkeepers – Muneeba Ali, Najiha Alvi and Sidra Nawaz
All-rounders – Fatima Sana, Omaima Sohail, Rameen Shamim, Syeda Aroob Shah, and Tuba Hassan

Pacers – Diana Baig, Fatima Khan, Tasmia Rubab, Waheeda Akhtar and Zaib-un-Nisa Niaz
The PCB has been using social media to actively share bits of the training sessions. The athletes are shown in a recently uploaded training video on X (previously Twitter) going through intense fielding drills, net practice and conditioning exercises. The video shows the team’s intense dedication and meticulous training to make sure they are at their best for the qualifiers.
With the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers 2025 just a few weeks away, Pakistan’s team is working hard to earn one of the two coveted slots. A combination of young and experienced players, as well as thorough preparation and strategic planning, will be essential to the team’s success in the competition. Supporters will be closely following Pakistan’s campaign to qualify for the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup.
