The 2025 Women’s Premier League (WPL), the third edition of India’s marquee Twenty20 (T20) tournament for women, is upon us. Scheduled from February 14 to March 15, 2025, it is set to expand its base across four cities—Vadodara, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Mumbai.
The third edition of the WPL kicks off with a clash between Gujarat Giants and defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Vadodara on February 14. Two-time finalists Delhi Capitals and inaugural champions Mumbai Indians open their campaigns in the second match on February 15, followed by UP Warriorz, the only remaining team, on February 16.
After six games in Vadodara, the tournament caravan will head south to Bengaluru for the next eight matches, before moving north to Lucknow for four games. WPL 2025 will culminate with its business-end fixtures, including the knockouts and the Final, at Mumbai’s CCI.
The format remains unchanged, featuring a total of 20 league games, followed by an Eliminator on March 13 and the Final on March 15. However, in a welcome move, the WPL has expanded its venues to Vadodara and Lucknow, with the inaugural edition being played entirely in Mumbai and the second edition in Bengaluru and Delhi.
