Charli Knott, an all-rounder from Australia, has joined Hampshire for the first half of the 2025 English domestic season. The 22-year-old will play in the first eight T20 Blast and One-Day Cup games.

Knott last domestic season enjoyed a successful stint with the Southern Vipers, the women’s regional team, which is now Hampshire, under the new domestic structure. She established herself as a reliable all-rounder during her time with the Vipers by amassing 563 runs and scalping 32 wickets in 20 games.
Knott said: “I can’t wait to be joining Hampshire again for this summer. I absolutely loved my time with the Vipers last year. The club offers an amazing environment both on the field and off, with great teammates and support staff. I am thrilled with the opportunity to be back again.”
Notably, she returned her best T20 figures of 4-23 against Western Storm at the Utilita Bowl and recorded her first century in Bristol, hitting 102. In addition, Knott played in three games for Charlotte Edwards’ Southern Brave in The Hundred in 2024, replacing Smriti Mandhana, who was on national duty.
Beyond regional cricket, Knott has continued to display her outstanding form. She helped her team finish second in the 2023 Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), contributing 283 runs and 10 wickets for Brisbane Heat, and while didn’t find much success this WBBL season, she has been a standout in the ongoing Women’s National Cricket League, scoring 255 runs, including a best of 79 not out, and taking 10 wickets with a best of 3-22.
Adam Carty, regional director of women’s cricket, on the signing said, “To have Charli return to us, 12 months on from her first outing for the region, in the colours of Hampshire, is a massive coup for the county and hopefully reflective of the mutual respect felt between player and club.
“She certainly came to the fore in all disciplines last season, populating our honours board with bat and ball, while pulling off one of the best catches I’ve ever seen vs the Stars at Falkland CC in July. She’s a tremendous all-round cricketer and one that leads by example in her practice and prep. We’re delighted to have her back.”
As Hampshire looks to get off to a strong start, Knott’s versatility as a dependable bowler and an effective hitter will be a great advantage. Her familiarity with English pitches and her background in high-pressure scenarios makes her an invaluable member of the team. Fans of Hampshire will be excited to watch the Australian star as she gets ready for the 2025 season.
