The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has revealed fixtures for the 2025 home international season, with the England women’s team slated to play six white-ball games against the West Indies early in the summer, followed by an eight-match white-ball series against India. However, the highlight remains the first-ever women’s Test at Lord’s, the home of cricket, confirmed for 2026 between England and India.

England will kick off their 2025 summer with the first of three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) against the West Indies at the Spitfire Ground, Canterbury, on May 21. Following the T20I series, the two teams will face off in three One Day Internationals (ODIs).

The West Indies last toured England in 2020 for a five-match T20I series, which they lost 0-5, and they haven’t played an ODI on English soil since 2019. Historically, England has dominated the West Indies in both formats, with 19 wins out of 28 T20Is and 18 victories from 26 ODIs. Set for their first tour of England in nearly five years, the West Indies will be eager to improve their record, while England will aim to extend their dominance.

After their series against the West Indies, England’s next challenge will be against India, starting with the first of five T20Is at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, on June 28, 2024. The last time India toured England in 2022, they swept the hosts 3-0 in the ODIs—a feat not achieved against England since 2001-02—and will be eager to replicate that success in the three ODIs, scheduled for July 16th, 19th, and 22nd, that draw the curtain on England women’s home international season.

Head-to-head, England has held the upper hand over India in both formats. In T20Is, England has won 22 out of 30 games, while in ODIs, they lead by six victories, with a total of 40 wins from 76 matches. England has also won both of its recent T20I series against India, one at home in 2022 and the other away in 2023, each by a 2-1 margin.

England’s 2023 tour of India included not only the three T20Is but also a one-off Test, and the ECB has now confirmed that the 2026 summer will feature a one-off Test between India and England at Lord’s, the iconic home of cricket.

In the 2023 one-off Test in India, the hosts dominated England, bowling them out for scores in the 130s in both innings, securing a commanding 347-run victory. The two sides have faced each other in 15 Tests, with India winning 3, England just 1, and 11 matches ending in draws. Overall, India has won 8, lost 6, and drawn 27 out of 41 Tests, while England has 20 wins, 16 losses, and 64 draws from 100 games.

Richard Gould, ECB Chief Executive Officer, expressed his delight for Lord’s set to make its women’s Test debut. He shared, “I’m also delighted we can confirm that India Women will return in 2026 to take on England Women in the first-ever women’s Test match at Lord’s. It will be a truly special occasion, and one of real significance.”
