Western Australia led by skipper Chloe Piparo had a decent campaign in the last edition of the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL). They finished fourth on the points table with 28 points from 12 games including six victories.

They had a sensational start to their campaign with five victories from their first six games. However, the wheels came off in the 2nd half of the season, as they managed just a solitary victory in their last six games against Tasmania. Skipper Chloe Piparo led from the front with the bat as she was the leading run-scorer for her side and the 4th highest run-scorer of the tournament with 470 runs at a strike rate of 83.18 and an average of 47 in 12 innings. Her tally of runs includes three half-centuries and a century.

As far as the bowling unit is concerned, the 23-year-old off-spinner Lilly Mills was the leading wicket-taker for her side and the joint-highest wicket-taker of the tournament alongside Lauren Smith with 18 wickets to her name at an average of 20.72, a strike rate of 29.61 and an impressive economy of 4.19 in 10 innings.

Note: Bhavi Devchand, Mikayla Hinkley, and Shay Manolini were the new signings. Ashley Day, Georgia Wyllie, and Poppy Stockwell were released from the squad for the upcoming edition of the tournament.

The Chloe Piparo led side would be keen to bounce back and put on an improved show in the upcoming edition of the tournament.
