The Northern Districts led by skipper Hollie Armitage signed the 35-year-old Australian all-rounder Erin Burns for the upcoming 5th edition of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy. Thunder led by skipper Eleanor Threlkeld signed the Australian duo of Katie Mack and Georgia Voll for the 2024 domestic season in England.
The upcoming 5th edition of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy will get underway from 20th April 2024 and conclude on 21st September 2024. The Southern Vipers led by skipper Georgia Adams were crowned as the champions of the 4th edition of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy as they defeated The Blaze led by skipper Kirstie Gordon in the final by five wickets and 46 balls to spare.
The 30-year-old opening batter Katie Mack had a good season representing the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) in the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) as she was the highest run-scorer for her side and the third-highest run-scorer of the tournament with 471 runs to her name at a strike rate of 81.91 and an average of 47.10 in 12 innings. Her tally of runs includes one century and three half-centuries.
She also played a crucial role with the bat for Adelaide Strikers in their title-winning campaign in the 2023 edition of the Women’s Big Bash League. She was the leading run-scorer for her side with 452 runs to her name at a strike rate of 118.63 and an average of 30.13 in 15 innings.
The 20-year-old young top-order batter from Australia had a great domestic season in the WNCL playing for Queensland. She was the leading run-scorer for Queensland and the 5th highest run-scorer of the tournament with 459 runs to her name at a strike rate of 74.27 and an average of 41.72 in 12 innings with the bat.
Her tally of runs includes a couple of half-centuries and a couple of centuries. Apart from her exploits with the bat, she also picked up seven wickets in nine innings with the ball for her side at an average of 30.85 and a strike rate of 35.14 with an economy of 5.26 in the WNCL. She also scored 206 runs at a strike rate of 112.56 and an average of 18.72 in 15 innings with the bat for Brisbane Heat. Apart from her exploits with the bat, she also picked up 9 wickets with the ball at a strike rate of 27.22 an average of 30.77 and an economy of 6.78 in 15 innings with the ball for Brisbane Heat.
Thunder led by skipper Eleanor Threlkeld will kickstart their campaign in the 5th edition of the tournament against Northern Diamonds led by skipper Hollie Armitage in a tournament opener on 20th April (Saturday) 2024 at the County Ground, Riverside, Chester-le-Street from 3 PM IST.
