The upcoming 5th edition of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy will commence from 20th April 2024 and conclude on 21st September 2024. The Southern Vipers led by skipper Georgia Adams were crowned as the champions of the 4th edition of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy as they defeated The Blaze led by skipper Kirstie Gordon in the final by five wickets and 46 balls to spare.

The Northern Diamonds led by skipper Hollie Armitage had a decent season last time around but failed to qualify for the knockout stages of the tournament as they finished 6th on the points table with 30 points from 14 games, which included six victories and seven defeats including one washed out game against the eventual champions Southern Vipers.

Ahead of the 5th edition of the tournament, the Hollie Armitage-led Northern Diamonds has signed the 35-year-old Australian all-rounder Erin Burns for the upcoming edition of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, a 50-over domestic tournament in England. “Erin is a brilliant signing for us. She brings a lot of experience on and off the field. I was lucky enough to play alongside her a few years ago, and she’s a brilliant character. She will add a lot of value to our squad, and we’re really looking forward to her joining us this year. With overseas signings, you want someone who can bat and bowl. We’re really pleased she can provide those two disciplines, but she’s also an outstanding fielder.” The Northern Diamonds skipper Hollie Armitage speaks about the inclusion of the Australian all-rounder being a handy addition to the set-up ahead of the new season.

She made her international debut for Australia on 8th September 2019 in an ODI against West Indies. She last played for Australia on 2nd October 2019 in a T20I against Sri Lanka.

The Northern Diamonds led by skipper Hollie Armitage will kick start their campaign in the 5th edition of the tournament against Thunder led by skipper Eleanor Threlkeld in a tournament opener on 20th April (Saturday) 2024 at the County Ground, Riverside, Chester-le-Street from 3 PM IST.
