Official Sponsor of 2022 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup ANZ who has been a supporter of women in sport for a long time has taken the initiative to form ANZ Next XI, a team of eleven next-generation female cricketing talent aged between 12 to 18 from across New Zealand.
As reported by times.co.nz, ANZ ambassador and White Ferns all-rounder Suzie Bates shared her excitement on this great on this and said,
“An opportunity like this would have been a dream for me as a kid, so I know it’s going to mean so much to these young cricketers. It’s amazing to see ANZ support the next generation of female cricketers in the same way they back the White Ferns,”.
Being invited to White Ferns junior training academy exclusively, the young girls would have the opportunity to meet and train with some top names of New Zealand cricket and also learn from the experts of the sport themselves. This initiative would provide these youngsters a platform to prove their potential and at the same time improve their skills further. Selection would be done based on the passion and determination demonstrated by them in their application.
CEO of ANZ New Zealand, Antonia Watson also shared her views saying “I’m a firm believer that if you can see it, you can be it. The opportunity to spend time with some of our most inspirational female athletes is something these young women will never forget,”
Further pointing to their over 10 years of support for women and how proud the company is to put support behind the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase our women athletes and provide important opportunities to grow the next generation of cricketers,” Watson said.
