The game is slated for 8:30 AM Indian Standard Time (IST) on the 12th of December, 2023, at Blundstone Arena, Hobart.

Squads:

Tasmania Tigers – Elyse Villani (C), Nicola Carey, Heather Graham, Lizelle Lee, Emma Manix-Geeves (WK), Sasha Moloney, Tabatha Saville, Clare Scott, Hayley Silver-Holmes, Amy Smith, Lauren Smith, Naomi Stalenberg, Molly Strano

South Australian Scorpions – Jemma Barsby (C), Bridget Patterson (VC), Sam Betts, Emma de Broughe, Josie Dooley, Paris Hall, Anesu Mushangwe, Courtney Neale, Maddie Penna, Kate Peterson, Megan Schutt, Courtney Webb, Amanda-Jade Wellington, Ella Wilson

Players to watch out:

Heather Graham

The 27-year-old all-rounder didn’t have a good start to her ’23/24 WNCL season, scoring just 7 runs and taking just a couple of wickets from 2 games. Heather rediscovered her form midway through the recently concluded WBBL season, and it’ll be expected of her to carry forward the momentum into the 2nd leg of the WNCL.

Amy Smith

The 19-year-old leg-spinner played just one game in the ’23/24 first-leg WNCL season and picked up 2 wickets from her 4 overs, conceding 24 runs. Amy was in good form in the recently concluded WBBL, especially in the second half, where she picked up many wickets. It’ll be hoped she brings along the same form into the WNCL.

Bridget Patterson

The 29-year-old keeper-batter was outstanding in the first-leg WNCL fixtures, amassing 205 runs, averaging 51.25 from 4 outings, and registering a highest score of 102. Bridget played a few important knocks for the team in the WBBL, and she’ll aim to transfer the same form into the WNCL, looking to finish on a high.

Anesu Mushangwe

The 27-year-old leg-spinner, in a couple of outings, maintained an economy rate of 4.35 and picked up a couple of wickets during the first-leg WNCL fixtures. Anesu impressed in the recent WBBL season, picking up 16 wickets, and she’ll aim to replicate the same success in the WNCL.

Pitch:

The Blundstone Arena features a batting-friendly deck and this time around as well, expect it to be no different with an average score in the 240s. The wicket also has enough in it for bowlers, especially spinners who can change the course of the game.

Weather:

It will be a pleasant day for cricket at Blundstone Arena with no expected rain interruptions and partly cloudy skies. The temperature will be around 20°C, with light winds and a humidity level of 81%.
