Simone Lourens:
The 15-year-old swashbuckling right-handed opening batter of South Africa Women’s U19 packed a punch with a blistering 61 off 44 in her last outing against India Women’s U19. She smashed nine boundaries and cleared the rope once, taking the attack to the opposition. She bamboozled the Indian bowlers with her aggressive stroke play.
Miane Smit:
The promising all-rounder of South Africa Women’s U19 made handy contributions with bat and ball in her last match against India Women’s U19. The wily right-arm off-spinner claimed 15/1 in two overs and was the most economical bowler in the high-scoring contest. She also scored an unbeaten 16 off nine, including three boundaries, towards the back end of the innings.
Emma Walsingham:
The right-handed top-order batter of Scotland Women’s U19 starred with the bat in her last fixture against UAE Women’s U19. She muscled 37 off 33, including five boundaries and a six. She came into bat in the first over and was there till the 12th, holding the innings together.
Maisie Maceira:
The right-arm speedster of Scotland Women’s U19 was the pick of the bowlers in her last game against UAE Women’s U19. She bagged 7/2 in two overs, accounting for both scalps in the ninth over. Besides being the most successful bowler for her side, she was the most economical one.
Pitch
It will be the tournament’s fourth game at this venue, with the third being played early in the day. The two games on January 14 saw the teams batting second, winning both. The surface is a batting paradise. Expect a run feast. The spinners could come in handy in the latter half of the game, given that the wicket will most likely be a used one.
