Players to Watch
Vishmi Gunarathne:
The captain of Sri Lanka Women’s U19 won the player of the match in her last outing against the USA Women’s U19. Coming into bat at number three, the right-hander led the run chase from the front and top-scored with an unconquered 34 off 40, including a couple of his to the fence.
Dewmi Vihanga Wijerathne:
The wily right-arm off-spinner of Sri Lanka Women’s U19 was the pick of the bowlers in her last match against the USA Women’s U19. She scalped 11/3 in four overs, including one maiden. She was also the most economical bowler for her side. With the bat, she scored 10 off eight.
Dilara Akter:
The wicket-keeper and right-handed top-order batter of Bangladesh Women’s U19 was at the helm of the run chase in her last fixture against Australia Women’s U19. She mustered 40 off 42, including seven boundaries. She put together 66 runs with Afia Prottasha for the second wicket after coming into bat in the first over of the innings.
Shorna Akter:
The talented all-rounder of Bangladesh Women’s U19 made useful contributions with bat and ball in her last appearance against Australia Women’s U19. Batting at number five, the right-hander smashed an unbeaten 23 off 18, including two fours and a six. She also bowled three overs of leg-spin and conceded 21 runs.
Pitch
It will be the third game of the tournament here. The teams batting second have won both matches played here so far. The wicket looks good for batting. The ball comes onto the bat nicely, and the outfield is quick. It is almost a flat surface, and the bowlers will have to pull a rabbit out of their hats to yield rich dividends.
Weather
The weather is expected to be very warm with plenty of sunshine. The maximum temperature attained during the day will be 31 degrees Celsius. There will be a zero percent cloud cover and a one percent chance of rain. The wind will blow from the northeast.
