The 30th match of the Hundred will be played between Southern Brave and Oval Invincibles on August 16 at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. This will be the last match for both teams in the league stage. While the Brave have made it to the finals of the inaugural tournament, Invincibles are positioned at number 2 with 9 points. Brave’s Smriti Mandhana has left for India and it will be interesting to see who opens the batting with Danielle Wyatt. It is an important game for the Invincibles as they would like to carry the momentum with them going into the knock-outs which is certain.

Players to watch out for

Danielle Wyatt (Southern Brave): The England opening bat is the leading run-getter for the Brave with 188 runs from seven matches, including the best of 69 not out. She has a strike rate of 137.22. She has hit a couple of half centuries in the tournament and her team will expect her to fire in the last two games of the competition as well.

Amanda Wellington (Southern Brave): The leg spinner has been a vital cog in the bowling line-up of the Brave. She is the most successful bowler of the team. She has scalped nine wickets in seven matches, including the best of 4-14. She is the fifth highest wicket-taker in the tournament so far (as of August 15, 2021).

Dane van Niekerk (Oval Invincibles): The South African all-rounder is leading by example, with incredible contributions with both bat and ball. She is the highest run-scorer for the Invincibles with 200 runs from six innings, including the best of 67 not out. She has hit a couple of half centuries in the tournament. She has a strike rate of 112.99. With the ball, the leg spinner has scalped six wickets.

Tash Farrant (Oval Invincibles): She is the second highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 12 wickets from six innings, including the best of 3-23. The left arm seamer is also the most successful bowler for the Invincibles. She has shown great variations with the ball, combined with good discipline. She can bowl at the start and at the death with equal effectiveness.

Weather conditions

It is a 3.30pm (local) start at The Rose Bowl in Southampton. The weather looks good throughout the course of the match. There is almost no chance of rain as the weather forecasts show a low chance of precipitation. The average temperature is around 20 degrees Celsius, with a moderate breeze blowing from the west-northwest.

This will be the fourth match of the tournament at the venue. In the last three matches, the teams batting first have won twice and the team batting first have won once.
