Players to watch out for
Jemimah Rodrigues (Northern Superchargers):
The pocket-sized dynamo has been making headlines on a regular basis, thanks to her two scintillating knocks in the competition. She is the highest run getter in the tournament having scored 152 in two matches. She has a blistering strike rate of 180.95 and has by all means dominated the opposition bowling. Superchargers would want their opening bat to go all guns blazing in their upcoming fixtures.
Laura Kimmince (Northern Superchargers):
The hard hitting bat from Australia hit five boundaries in a set against Trent Rockets in her previous game. She scored a quick-fire 31 off 13 balls, hitting seven boundaries at a strike rate of 238.46. Apart from her batting prowess, she is an exceptional fielder and saves plenty of runs for her team.
Dane van Niekerk (Oval Invincibles):
The South African all-rounder has been in stellar form with both bat and ball. She is the top run-getter for her side with 85 runs in two matches, including the best of 56 not out. She has a strike rate of 110.38. With the ball, the leg spinner has picked up three wickets in two outings.
Tash Farrant (Oval Invincibles):
The left arm seamer has been the most successful bowler for the Invincibles. She has scalped five wickets in two matches, including the best of 3-25. She is the second highest wicket-taker in the tournament so far. She has good slow ball yorkers in her armoury which can trouble a lot of batters.
It is a 2.30pm (local) start at Headingley in Leeds. The weather does not look too good as there is around 35% chance of rain during the time of play. The average temperature is around 18 degrees Celsius, with a gentle breeze blowing from the west.
It is a good wicket for batting, with some aid to the bowlers. This will be the second game of the tournament at this venue. In the first game, the team batting second comfortably won the match. The team batting first posted 130 and the score was chased down in just 85 balls. Out of the 12 wickets that fell, seven were taken by seamers, four by seamers and one was a run out.
