The 19th match of the Hundred Women’s Competition 2022 will be played between London Spirit and Oval Invincibles on August 27 at Lord’s in London. The match will start at 8PM IST.

This will be the fifth match of the tournament for both the teams. While London Spirit have won one out of their four matches, Oval Invincibles, on the other hand, have won three out of their four matches. London Spirit have defeated Welsh Fire, while they have gone down to Southern Brave, Northern Superchargers, and Trent Rockets. Oval Invincibles have emerged victorious against Northern Superchargers, Trent Rockets, and Birmingham Phoenix, and have suffered defeat at the hands of Southern Brave.

Players to watch out for

Beth Mooney: 

The left-handed opening batter and wicket-keeper of London Spirit won the player of the match for her match winning batting performance in her last match against Welsh Fire. She led the run chase from the front scoring an unbeaten 61 off 39 balls, including 11 boundaries. Behind the stumps, she accounted for two stumpings.

Freya Davies: 

The right-arm seamer from London Spirit was the pick of the bowlers for her side in her last appearance against Welsh Fire. She struck with 25/3 in her full set of 20 balls, including two wickets of consecutive balls. She bowled as many as 10 dot balls and displayed good consistency with her lines and lengths.

Alice Capsey: 

The talented all-rounder from Oval Invincibles made useful contributions with both bat and ball in her last match against Birmingham Phoenix. The right-handed top order batter scored 20 runs off 18 balls, including two boundaries and a six. With the ball, the right arm off spinner claimed 15/3 in her full quota of 20 balls. She won the player of the match for her all-round effort.

Lauren Winfield-Hill: 

The right-handed opening batter of Oval Invincibles starred with the bat as she scored an undefeated 41 off 38 balls, including half a dozen boundaries and a six. She led the run chase from the front and guided her team to an eight-wicket win chasing 107 runs. She played some good-looking shots in her entertaining knock.

Pitch

This will be the second match of the tournament at this venue. In the last match, more than 240 runs were scored and 11 wickets fell in the process. Fast bowlers enjoyed bowling on this wicket in the last game. On the other hand, there is some purchase for the batters. Expect a thrilling contest between bat and ball.

The weather is expected to be pleasant with sunshine and some clouds. The maximum temperature attained during the day could be 23 degrees Celsius. The expected cloud cover will be 41 percent with just six percent chance of rain. The wind will blow from the east-northeast.
