The Indian women’s cricket team, led by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, is hosting South Africa for a multi-format series from June 16 to July 9. India clinched the three-match One-Day Internationals (ODIs) series 3-0. Continuing their dominance, Smriti Mandhana not only registered her second Test century but also achieved her highest-ever individual score of 149 runs across all formats.
Smriti Mandhana had an outstanding series against South Africa. She scored consecutive centuries in the first and second ODIs, followed by 90 runs in the third ODI, amassing a total of 343 runs—the most in a three-match ODI bilateral series. She previously scored 136 runs in the second ODI, marking her highest-ever individual score in ODIs and overall until today. On June 28, 2024, in the one-off Test, she broke her own record set just 9 days earlier by scoring 149 runs off 161 balls, with 27 boundaries and a maximum, maintaining a strike rate of 92.54. She reached the 100 runs mark in 122 balls and smashed 19 boundaries, registering her 2nd century in the longest format.

Smriti Mandhana made her Test debut on August 13, 2014, against England Women during India Women’s tour of England in Wormsley. In that match, Mandhana scored 22 runs in the first innings and made her maiden Test half-century in the second innings, scoring 51 runs and making her mark in the longest format of the game. She registered her maiden test century against Australia Women on September 30, 2021, during India Women’s tour of Australia in Carrara, where she accumulated 127 runs with the help of 22 boundaries and 1 six at a strike rate of 58.79. In the ongoing one-off test, she only scored her second century she also registered her highest individual score of 149.
